Prefer to explore in your Jeep or ATV rather than on foot? Christmas Valley Sand Dunes is where you want to be! This 11,000-acre area is managed by the BLM. Test your skills on the slippery sand rising 60 feet high. On the south side of the sand dunes, you can explore Fossil Lake, and on a lucky day, you could find the fossil of a dire wolf, mammoth, or giant beaver!
